Meet Your 2026–2028 JTHA Board



The Joshua Tree Highlands Association is delighted to introduce the neighbors who will be stewarding our community over the next two years. This new board brings together longtime residents whose roots here go back generations and newcomers who fell for the high desert and wanted to pitch in — all united by a love for this place and a willingness to roll up their sleeves for it.

To everyone who took part in this year's election — whether you voted, contributed, spread the word, or simply showed up — thank you. A neighbor-run association only works when neighbors show up for each other, and you did.

Between them, this group brings experience in conservation, nonprofit accounting, teaching, the arts, community and city boards, and much more. Some have watched the Highlands change over decades; others are seeing their first desert springs. Together, they reflect the full character of this neighborhood — full-time residents, part-time residents, and property owners who all care about keeping this a safe, welcoming, and beautiful place to live.

What the Board Does

At its heart, JTHA exists to care for the dirt roads that San Bernardino County does not maintain — the roads that get every one of us home, and that emergency vehicles rely on to reach us. That means coordinating grading, prioritizing trouble spots, and responding when weather takes its toll.

But the work doesn't stop at the roads. The board also welcomes new neighbors, keeps the community informed, plans gatherings, and takes on the occasional special project — from severe-weather response to social events that bring us together. None of it rests on any one person. The healthiest version of this association is one where the work is shared.

How You Can Be Part of It

This community is stronger the more of us take part. There are a few simple ways to get involved:

Become a contributing member. Our roads are funded almost entirely by voluntary dues from neighbors like you. Right now, only about a quarter of Highlands households contribute — which means a small group is carrying the roads for everyone. Every contribution goes directly into the ground, in the form of graded roads and repaired trouble spots. If you haven't given this year, there's no better time.

Lend a hand. Whether you're handy, good with communications, know your way around county processes, or just have an afternoon to give, we'd love to hear from you. Many of our board members started exactly this way.

Spread the word. If you know neighbors who don't yet know JTHA exists — especially newer owners — point them our way. The more of us who take part, the further our shared resources go.

To our new board members: welcome. To those continuing their service: thank you for your steadiness. And to every neighbor who calls the Highlands home: thank you for caring for this singular place we're lucky enough to share.
